Software

Weidlinger develops software tools to meet its consulting needs and sells many of them as commercial products. These tools were initially created by our engineers and scientists to meet the challenges of particular applied science research projects for which commercial software products either didn't exist or were inadequate to solve the problem. Over time this broad array of state-of-the art software tools has been adapted and refined to serve a broad range of research needs, clients, and industries.

A valuable company resource, our software is designed for computational efficiency on the latest computers and verified and validated to ensure accurate solutions for all applications of interest. Each program is specialized for its particular field of application and produces high-fidelity results at a speed that meets or exceeds that of competing products. Several of our programs are sold commercially. Customers enjoy the unique opportunity of interacting with Weidlinger staff members who have developed and applied the software and who can customize the programs to meet their specific needs. This direct contact with experts in the application of advanced modeling tools sets our support services apart from those of many larger commercial software companies.

Many government, corporate, and academic clients have longstanding relationships with Weidlinger as a result of the firm's commitment to developing and maintaining technologically advanced programs. As directors of research in strategically and/or commercially sensitive fields, they rely on Weidlinger's concern for protecting the confidentiality of their initiatives, which are numerous and varied.

EPSA, SRUE, ELSHOK, UNDEX, and WASCAT were developed to meet the US Navy's need for accurate modeling of surface ships and submarines, INTEGRA for locating new oil reservoirs. The FLEX family of commercially available programs began with NLFlex, one of the most advanced programs of its kind for simulating the response of structures to blast and impact and for assessing collapses and progressive collapse potential. Almost thirty years of verification and validation sets it apart from other seemingly similar products. Another FLEX family member, PZFlex, is a 21st-century virtual laboratory for designing piezoelectric and electrostatic devices and solving other manufacturing problems. Its development and wide-ranging applications are more fully described at pzflex.com.
